FEES
Because US CONSULTS identifies, creates and captures significant opportunities that would never materialize without our involvement, any fee we earn is genuinely paid from the benefits we create and capture for our clients. Additionally, our fee schedule is flexible. We offer both contingency and fixed fees (and any combination thereof). Thus, if a client prefers a contingency rate, we only receive payment as our client receives its benefit. We can offer this flexibility in fee schedule only because of the confidence we have developed after years of success. Thus, our fees are truly SELF-FUNDING.
Our fees are negotiable. No two clients are the same in their requirements. No two clients are the same regarding opportunities. Thus, the contingency percentage can vary from client to client. The following is an example of a contingency fee schedule:
- Contingency Fee Only
Fee: A negotiated percentage of benefit received as it is received
Opportunity: One-time development grant to be paid as costs are incurred over time.
Description:
US CONSULTS and the Client agree to a contingency fee to be paid as a percentage of the funds the Client receives. There is no retainer paid. Travel costs are borne by the Client. Office costs are borne by US CONSULTS. There is no charge for the cost of copies, office telephone expense, etc. that are incurred by US CONSULTS. Other than travel, its fees are all inclusive. Thus, until the benefit is delivered, the only impact on Client cash flow is US CONSULTS' travel expense. And the Client approves all travel before it occurs.
US CONSULTS successfully negotiates a development grant. US CONSULTS prepares all documentation required for the proposal, and reviews any contracts offered the Client. US CONSULTS does not sign any agreements on behalf of the Client. The Client has sole signature authority.
The Client receives confirmation from a government agency that it has been awarded a grant for $2 million. No payment is made at this time. After two weeks, the Client receives the first of four checks for $500 thousand. The Client then pays US CONSULTS the contingency fee percentage of the amount of the first check. This process repeats as the Client receives future checks. Thus, there is no negative impact on cash flow, as 1) all of the grant money is incremental income and would not have materialized without US CONSULTS activities, and 2) payments to US CONSULTS are made only after the benefit has been received. Additionally, the fee being paid to US CONSULTS is SELF-FUNDING, as our fee is genuinely funded from the benefit we have captured for the Client.
PROCESS
We do more than consult or merely advise. We actually go out and capture the opportunity for our client. We recognize that resources are a precious commodity. Most organizations have too few resources and too many demands. We do not add to those demands. Instead, we add to our clients' resources. We actually do function as our clients' adjunct staff. Of course we confer before we act. Our process:
- First, US CONSULTS identifies and confirms the opportunity. In short, we
RESEARCH. To us, research does not mean asking your staff for the answers.
Research means finding the information that defines the environment and the
opportunity, and then finding the means to achieve that opportunity.
- Next we strategize with our client to verify that the opportunity is a
suitable objective, and if so, what tactics will achieve it.
- Finally, US CONSULTS executes against the objective. This last step is the
key difference between US CONSULTS and other management consultants. US
CONSULTS deliverables are not recommendations or reports. Our job is not
just to identify the opportunity, but to capture it!
By way of analogy, simply having a dream does not guarantee that one can
live the dream. Long before the Wright brothers, man dreamed of flight.
Icarus attached feathers to his arms to try to achieve that dream, but all he achieved was a legendary failure. US Consults not only shares the dream with its clients - it converts that dream to reality.
